Malik J Ali
Malik J. Ali grew up in Arlington, TX. He developed a passion for the craft of acting after the sudden passing of his best friend Joseph Tusan at the age of 17. He believes that it was a divine intervention that brought him into the world of storytelling. He began his acting journey studying Theater Performance at the University of Texas Arlington before relocating to New York City and studying under Ann Dowd and Anthony Abeson, to name a few.
As an actor, Malik has been seen on stage, TV, and film. He believes that truthful storytelling has the potential to set people free. He recently worked on Season 2 of "Swagger" on Apple TV as Frederick Lawson. Malik can next be seen sharing the silver screen with a legendary cast, including Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Corey Hawkins, in August Wilson's "The Piano Lesson," directed by Malcolm Washington for Netflix.
As a filmmaker, Malik's credits include "Colored Tags," "Rainbow Sun," "Conflict" (Silver Telly Award), and "Being X in American."
