Sonakshi Mittal
Sonakshi Mittal is a director and a screenwriter. She started assisting directors from the age of 17 with her first film being Sata Lota pan Sagla Khota - a Marathi comedy helmed by Shrabani Deodhar. She then went on to pursue her Masters in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy while working as a part time editor for student films. In her three year stay in Los Angeles, she honed her screenwriting, cinematography, editing and direction skills. She also pursued a two year Improv Comedy course at the Second City Hollywood and farmed her love for comedy and dialogue writing. Post her return, she assisted Bollywood director Ashiwni Iyer Tiwari on her short film Ghar ki Murgi and her feature film Panga, taking on every aspect of the process - from pre-production to post. Post Panga, Sonakshi conceptualized and wrote the screenplay for her own film Once Upon Two Times - a coming of age family comedy. She directed this film in collaboration with Jar Films, a production house known for its carved niches like Tabbar, Qarib Qarib single and Gangs of Wasseypur.
She is is now developing scripts of various genres and eyeing directorial projects that reflect the soul she wishes to infuse into content.
