Mariy Rosen
Mariy Rosen is a graduate of the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Bulgaria. He has directed numerous independent theatre performances, both at national and regional theaters in Bulgaria, as well as in unconventional spaces. His innovative approach has gained him the National Theatre Award IKAR for Best Director for his staging of Paul Zindel's The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds. As an actor, his portfolio spans both theatre, TV and films (The Way Back, Maybe Tomorrow, Away from the shore, etc.) Since 2020 Mariy Rosen has been teaching acting at the Theatre Department of New Bulgarian University. He is also the frontman of the synth-pop band Help Me Jones. The last few years Mariy Rosen has focused mainly on script writing and developing his own movie projects. He has directed commercials and music videos. The short film Cancer, Capricorn and Pisces supported by the Bulgarian National Film Centre, is his debut as film director.
