Jared Gertner
Actor Jared Gertner has worked in theatre, TV, film, commercials, and voice over. He is best known for his role as Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon on Broadway, the First National Tour, and in London's West End, where he was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Lead Actor in a Musical.
Gertner made his Broadway debut as William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Broadway, and the First National Company in San Francisco and Boston - where he won the IRNE Award). He also created the role of Warren in Ordinary Days (Off Broadway- Roundabout Theatre Company), and can be heard on the original cast album.
On TV, Gertner has appeared on shows as varied as Supernatural, Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls, Agent Carter, How I Met Your Mother, Ugly Betty, and The Good Wife. Audiences may also recognize him for his award-winning work as Randall Moody in the web series, Submissions Only. In addition, he has been cast in pilots for NBC and CBS.
As a voice over artist, he can be heard in films, TV shows, and in numerous TV and radio commercials.
Gertner's nationwide work in regional theatre includes Paper Mill Playhouse, Goodspeed, Cape Playhouse, Fulton Opera House, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, St Louis Repertory, The Gem, The Orpheum, 11th Hour Theatre, and more. As a theatre educator, he has taught master classes across the U.S and in London.
Jared Gertner hails from the Jersey Shore (the place, not the TV show) and received a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
