Netflix audiences know Maia from her role as a complex MKULTRA psychiatrist alongside Christopher Lloyd, Parker Posey and Carey Elwes in the cold war spy drama, Granite Flats. An American, she spent three years training for her degree at London's prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama. In London, she co-adapted, directed and starred in the first approved adaptation of James Baldwin's landmark novel, Giovanni's Room, produced to rave reviews at the Drill Hall Theatre, and was in the BBC miniseries Over Here, about Americans in the RAF. Maia has extensive experience in the classics -- Shakespeare, Moliere, Congreve, Chekhov and more. Celebrated for her voice, Maia has narrated over a dozen novels for audible.com. Also a trained singer and classical violinist, Maia's employed her range of talents in musical theater. She is the mother to two boys, actor Charlie Plummer and his brother James, and married to writer and producer John Christian Plummer.
