Sam Malone
Originally from Mississippi, Sam Malone never imagined New Orleans would become his home. Now nestled in the Big Easy, and having received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Theatre Performance, working under the tutelage of the late, great John Dennis, Sam began his journey in full-time acting, with breakout roles in HBO's 'Treme' and the award winning series 'True Detective'. Simultaneous to these on screen opportunities, Sam performed on stage in such esteemed productions as August Wilson's 'Jitney', and William Shakespeare's 'Titus Andronicus'.
After performing professionally for some time, Sam Malone continued education pursuing his Master's degree in Theatre with a concentration in Performance at the University of New Orleans.
Some of the recent credits for Sam Malone in feature films or a television series include: Academy Award Winning Director, Barry Jenkins' critically acclaimed limited series 'The Underground Railroad' on Amazon Prime, with Sam garnering the leading guest star role as Moses. Other recent prolific performances include Netflix #1 feature film Synchronic, where Sam performed alongside Anthony Mackie, also, Showtime's Golden Globe nominated, and the biggest debut limited series in Showtime history "Your Honor', starring Bryan Cranston, with Sam Malone in a recurring guest star role as Chris Cutler. Other significant credits include Imagen Award winning series 'Queen of the South' as character Slyvestre, Ryan Murphy's Award winning series 'American Horror Story', as character Detective Stiles, and a recurring guest starring role in 24: Legacy TV series on FOX.
As Sam Malone continues to lean forward and explore many exciting, and adventurous roles in the near future, his intentions and commitment to the work is the torch leading the path to many possibilities.
Sam Malone now continues his study of the art and craft of acting with Diana Castle at the Imagined Life studios in Los Angeles. Sam is represented by his agent Alexander White of Alexander White Agency.
Sam Malone spends some of his time in community work supporting local organizations, including food drives, and volunteering assistance to homeless shelters in New Orleans. He is committed to providing quality housing to those on government assistance. Sam also supports the local Children's Hospital in New Orleans.
