Leo Scherman
Leo Scherman is a Toronto based director, writer and producer.
He is the co-writer and director of the WW1-horror film Trench 11, which won Best Feature Film at Toronto After Dark Film Festival, garnered the highest audience award in the history of the festival and played at festivals around the world including LA, Berlin, Manchester, Mexico City, Chicago, Telluride and Whistler.
Scherman co-created the TV series Cock'd Gunns, which won two Canadian Screen Awards for Best Writing and Best Ensemble Performance and Nominee for Best Comedic Series.
With a focus on suspense and realism, Scherman has experience in a cross section of genres including feature films, documentary, true crime docudrama, comedy and hidden-camera. Born in London, UK, Scherman was educated at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and trained under David Cronenberg.
