Charles Solomon Jr.
Charlie Solomon was born in Dallas and moved to Waxahachie, Texas for his high school years a few years after his parents' divorce. He grew up doing theater and working at a cotton gin, herding cattle and working at an aluminum plant. He attended Syracuse University's theater program, Texas A&M University, S.M.U. (B.A. English literature), University College at Oxford University, England (through S.M.U.), and N.Y.U. (film).
After college, at the end of 1985, he moved to LA and studied at the Vincent Chase Studio in Hollywood for a year. Then in January 1987 he decided to go to NYC to study with the last of the greats from the old Group Theater crowd. He studied with Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof at HB Studios. After performing in a couple of off-off Broadway plays, he attended Sanford Meisner's private class of 30 students on the island of Bequia in the Caribbean. IN 1988 he moved back to Los Angeles and began acting in the Witchcraft movies and later studied with Margie Haber. He stopped serious pursuit of acting roles around 1992 and wrote and directed his first feature in 1994 and directed some music videos in 1997.
Around 1995 he became interested in auto racing and after a couple years and a couple championships in the amateur world he tried his hand at pro racing. He raced in 5 semi-pro NASCAR races and 4 pro NASCAR races. When his truck/trailer/race car were stolen he tried out for a seat in Zippo lighter's Pro Grand Am team and secured a 50% sponsorship from Zippo. He raced 3 times with them and earned a 2nd and 3rd place. In 2001 he was in a race practice accident that ended his racing "career".
In 2002 he joined up with longtime close friend Steve Nemeth at Rhino Films to produce some documentaries and a horror film. IN 2007 he was asked to be in a movie and that rekindled his interest in performing.
In 2005, at a mail box store in LA, he ran into the girl that he had a crush on in college at S.M.U. named Natahsa Janina Valdez, who is now known as the fabulous sex-therapist and author, Dr. Natasha from her radio show of 15 years. They have a 3 year old son.
In 2010 he began Pro racing again in the World Challenge series. In 6 races he earned 2 top 10s, 2 top 5s, and 2 Hard Charger awards.
