JULIO RAMOS (1965 Caguas, PR) Graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Theater and Education in 1991. That same year he participated in the V Workshop of the School of Theater of Latin America and the Caribbean in the city of Essen, Germany. As part of his acting training, he took workshops with Yuyachkani theater group from Peru and with the renowned Brazilian playwright Augusto Boal. For 10 years he worked with the Puerto Rican teacher and director Gilda Navarra, where he stars in works such as Acto sin Palabras, Eleuterio y el Coquí and El Múcaro y la Minina. In 1995 he became a member of the Agua, Sol y Sereno theater group. For more than 30 years he has worked in various areas of theatrical work as an actor, mime, stilt driver, juggler, set designer, stage manager and teacher. In February 2005 he made his one man show 7 veces Siete. As an actor, he has had the opportunity to participate in more than 28 theater festivals in various countries such as Germany, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Cuba, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and the United States. On the other hand, among his film interventions are: Imprisoned (2020), Broche de Oro ... the beginning (2017), Galán (2019 Chicago Latin Film Festival), The Rum Diary, (2009), The Argentine (2007), Kabo & Plaón (2008), El Clown (2006 ), Cayo (2004), Password (2008), Thieves and Liars (2005), Last Flight Out, (2002), Cuentos de Abelardo (1989), La Guagua Aérea (1993), Mi día de suerte (1999), Que sera, sera, (1996, short film Venice Film Festival). His television credits include Off The Map (ABC Studios Hawaii series), Wrecked (TBS series epi. 1), Startup (Crackle series epi. 10), Desamores, Hay hombres para todas, Victoria, Revolución en el infierno. Some of the theatrical pieces in which he has participated are Angeles in America, Tartufo, Una de Cal y Otra de Arena, La verdadera Historia de Pedro Navaja, Los Coyotes, El Olor del Pop Corn, Máscaras Afuera, Etiqueta para Machotes de Caché, Lazarillo de Tormes, among others. Among the awards and recognitions are; Best National Actor for El Gallo Pinto, Festival Internacional Cine Fiesta (2008) Best National Actor for Contraseña, Rincón International Film Festival (2010) Best National Actor for Galán, French Aliance International Film Festival (2015) The newspaper El Nuevo Día selects him in the 3 best theater directors of 2004 for the play Aire.
